We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team in the residential construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all purchasing activities, including vendor management, cost analysis, and procurement of materials, ensuring the highest quality at the most cost-effective prices. The Purchasing Agent will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our construction projects are completed on time and within budget.

Job Details

1. Manage all aspects of purchasing for the company, ensuring that all materials, supplies, and equipment needed for projects are procured on time and at the best possible price.
2. Maintain and manage relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts to ensure the most cost-effective deals.
3. Analyze cost data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes.
4. Prepare and process purchase orders and documents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
5. Work closely with project managers and other team members to understand material needs and timelines for each project.
6. Monitor supplier performance to assess the ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
7. Coordinate with accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the efficient functioning of the operation.
8. Maintain accurate records of all purchases, including cost analyses, delivery, vendor performance, and inventories.
9. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
10. Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in the residential construction industry.
3. Proven experience in managing and negotiating with vendors.
4. Strong knowledge of purchasing procedures and best practices, as well as cost analysis techniques.
5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Proficient in using purchasing software and MS Office Suite.
7. Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment is highly desirable.
